although i am terrified of spiders i got close enough to this one to capture it and the detail of his web. i really like how you can see the deck in the background unfocused and the spider is perfectly clear.

I absolutely hate spiders; they freak me out. But this is a great picture. You mentioned the pattern of the web, but I think even the spider looks kinda cool and has his own pattern. Spiders aren't so bad when they're just in photos. :)
