My Grammy had always wanted to take a helicopter ride. So for her birthday that's exactly what she got. This is a random neighborhood in Augusta. I loved the monotonous feel of this image. And the helicopter ride was amazing.
Artists nurture their ability to find interest or beauty in the mundane, the ordinary and the natural world. Through practice, they accentuate this focus, typically as a driving force in their work. From Observation is a community blog project that engages its participants to take part in this exercise by finding beauty and interest in their everyday lives.
Very cool picture. I like how the neighborhood is built in a circular patter. Also i like how the red trees are spread out around the picture it really adds to the color of the picture
ReplyDeleteA buddy of mine is a pilot and flies helicopters and i have been a few times so i know what you mean. You can take great pictures from up there.
ReplyDeleteThis picture seriously looks very unique to me. At first I swear you took a picture of like a toy town or like a train set town model, it appears very flat. Not to dog on your photography skills or anything, it's really good how the colors seem almost cartoon-ish and singled out. In theater we paint with paints like this and it just reminded me of one of our flats, very good job!
ReplyDeleteyeah-this photo has a surreal quality to it. It doesnt look real when you first look at it. It would be interesting to stage it-make it out of miniatures and photograph it then...would we be able to tell the difference?
ReplyDeleteThis reminds me of photos a teacher at emporia state takes using a kite. It gives a person an unusual perspective. Not many people get to see this view point.
ReplyDeleteI like that this neighborhood looks random and sprawls all over the land yet was planned in great detail by architects and landscapers. Thanks for the new perspective!
ReplyDeleteI like the colors of the trees and the different shapes of the houses.
